Bookopoly Adult Summer Reading: Play Bookopoly this summer and participate in the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program. Bookopoly begins on June 2 and ends on August 29. Pick up a ‘board’ from the library and look through the prompts. Each time you read a book that fits in with a ‘property’, mark it off on the corresponding property (and reading log, but not required) to keep track of what you’ve read. Once you’ve finished a color set, come visit the library to get a stamp and an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing - “Cozy Up to Read” Bundle! How to Play: Pick up a game ‘board’ from the Library; Read through the prompts and begin reading! Once you’ve finished a book that fits into a “property”, mark off the property on the board. Books can only be used for one property! **Optional: Write down the title of the book next to the corresponding property on the Reading Log to keep track of what books you’ve read Every reader gets 2 “Get Out of Jail” cards to use on ONE property each (this does not eliminate a whole color set - just one property in a color set) “Get Out of Jail” cards cannot be used on “Community Chest”, “Income Tax”, “Utilities”, “Railroads” or “Chance” For every color set that is completed and stamped, readers will get an entry into the Prize Drawing (any property that Get Out of Jail is used for still counts towards a completed color set) Do not ‘back log’ books. Start fresh when you begin the challenge! Completing Color Sets: Once you’ve read all the books in a color set, bring your board back to the Library to get stamped and earn an entry into the drawing for the Grand Prize The only 2 squares that have no prompt/effect on gameplay are the “GO” and the “Go to Jail” squares Game concludes on August 29; make sure to have all stamps by the end of the Library business day on or before then!

Youth Summer Reading Event (Begins June 2, Ends August 29)

This summer, we will be doing our Summer Reading board game style! Grab a Reading Board Game from the Library and start playing! A special dice will be rolled at the Library to advance readers. Each square has a special prompt for readers to accomplish. When readers have finished the game, they will be entered into the grand prize drawing - Family Game Night Bundle!
BookLand sheets (rules + 'board) can be picked up at the Library beginning June 2. Participants needs a physcial BookLand Board Game to receive stamps
**NOTE: Readers have to roll the dice at the Library to advance and use the Red Bud Public Library game sheet to participate.
BookLand Youth Summer Reading Event: Pick up a game sheet (attached) and visit the front desk to roll the dice and begin the game! You will roll a dice to ‘move’ ahead on the board game. The Librarian will initial and date the space you have ‘moved’ to. Finish the prompt on the space and have a parent/guardian initial the space when you’ve completed the task. Keep coming back to the library to roll the dice to move ahead and finish the board game! For any reader who completes the game, they will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing - Family Game Night Bundle! Readers can begin the game on June 2. The game will complete on August 29. General Rules: You have to roll the Library Dice at the Library Every reader plays their own game on their own board Once you have completed a space and a parent has initialed, the librarians will stamp the completed spaces each time you visit the library to ‘move’ ahead Every reader gets 3 re-rolls per game - if you land on a space and you don’t like the prompt, move back to where you were before and re-roll the dice Readers cannot “Trade” reading prompts with others A reader can only move a maximum of 6 spaces per roll If you land on a space that has already been completed, move to the closest one that has not been done There are some duplicate prompts, but you cannot count the same book more than once Gold Stars - if you land on this space, you’ll be able to select a small prize from the prize tub, then move to the closest prompt that has yet to be completed. Reading Log - readers can fill out the Reading Log (on back of this page) to help keep track of the books they have read. Not required to fill out and has no effect on finishing the game or to be entered into the drawing Do not ‘back log’ books. Start fresh with tracking your reads once you start the game! To Finish the Game: Readers must roll the exact number of spaces to finish the game - you’ll get three chances (not part of re-rolls) to roll the number you need. If you don’t succeed, check out a book of your choice and try again on your next visit to the library. Once you’ve reached “Finish”, you’re done and entered into the grand prize drawing! Bonus Entries: Once you’ve reached “Finish”, you have a choice to either finish the game, or go back and do the prompts you have yet to complete. For any reader who completes all the prompts, one bonus entry will be added to the drawing. **GAME COMPLETES ON AUGUST 29.**
